China accounts for up to 10% of all Russian arms exports - Rosoboronexport head

MOSCOW. March 9 (Interfax-AVN) - China accounts for up to 10% of the sales of Russian weapons abroad, said Anatoly Isaikin, the general director of the Russian arms export monopoly, Rosoboronexport.

"We have had about the same figures in the past three years: China has bought from 5% to 10% of the entire amount of weapons sold by Russia," Isaikin said at a press conference at the Interfax main office on Wednesday.

Russia and China are negotiating the possibility of increasing arms shipments to China, which should further increase this country's share in the entire amount of Rosoboronexport's sales, Isaikin said. "A number of contracts are being negotiated," he said.

Russia does not buy military products from China, Isaikin said. "China is not shipping anything to us so far," he said.
