E.ON, Wingas had no shortfall in gas takeup from Gazprom in 2010
MOSCOW. March 9 (Interfax) - German gas trading companies E.ON Ruhrgas and Wingas took up the minimum amount of gas specified in their contracts with Gazprom in 2010, a source in gas circles told Interfax.
They also took up the shortfall under take-or-pay provisions carried over from 2009: 550 million cubic meters for E.ON Ruhrgas and 360 million cubic meters for Wingas.
Gazprom delivered 34 billion cubic meters of gas to Germany in 2010 (up from 31.3 bcm in 2009) for $9.2 billion or 21% of Gazprom's revenue from exports outside the CIS.
None of the German importers requested a reduction in the minimal contracted amount.
Germany's gas market expanded 4.2% to 87 bcm in 2010, according to data from Eurogas.
