Russia expects more "concentrated help" on accession to WTO from U.S. - Shuvalov
SKOLKOVO. March 9 (Interfax) - Russia is hoping that the U.S. will be more actively supporting Russia's accession to the WTO, Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov said.
"We are hoping this assistance will now be provided in a more concentrated form," Shuvalov said in Skolkovo on Wednesday.
Shuvalov recalled that Russia plans to enter the WTO in 2011.
"The political success of this project largely depends on the serious attitude of the U.S. administration to this project," he said.
Shuvalov also said Russia is hoping for a speedy repealing of the Jackson-Vanik Amendment.
"We are hoping that the U.S. administration and the Congress can continue the work on repealing the Jackson-Vanik Amendment this year," he said.
