Vimpelcom Ltd. shareholders may green-light Wind Telecom buy

MOSCOW. March 17 (Interfax) - The shareholders in Vimpelcom Ltd. may give their approval at a meeting on Thursday to the acquisition of telecommunications holding Wind Telecom from Egyptian billionaire Naguib Sawiris.

The meeting is scheduled for noon Moscow time in Amsterdam, where the company has offices. The issue will be raised of issuing 325,639,827 ordinary shares and 305 million convertible prefs.
