Ukraine, EU intend to complete talks on free trade zone, visa-free regime by mid 2011
KYIV. March 22 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian government is hoping to sign agreements on the free trade zone and visa-free regime with the EU in the first half of 2011, Ukrainian Economic Development and Trade Minister Andrei Klyuyev said at the session of the interparliamentary assembly Ukraine-Poland-Lithuania on Tuesday.
Klyuyev recalled that he is responsible for issues relating to negotiations on the free trade zone with the EU in the Ukrainian government.
"We are conducting intensive negotiations. Of course, we have a whole number of issues that will have to be resolved in Brussels. These issues are related to export quotas, the import of agricultural products, and services and goods in the fuel and energy sector and transport. However, there are no irresolvable problems in general," Klyuyev said.
