Coal prices rise slightly at Qinhuangdao Port
Shanghai. March 23. INTERFAX-CHINA - Coal prices rose slightly at Qinhuangdao Port, China's largest coal trans-shipment port, from March 16 to March 23, while stockpiles continued to drop, according to China Coal Transportation and Distribution Association (CCTDA) statistics.
The price of 5,500-kcal Shanxi premium blend coal inched up RMB 5 ($0.76) per ton at the port this week, while coal stockpiles dropped to 7.65 million tons on March 22, down from 7.84 million tons on March 13, according to the statistics.
The Bohai-Rim Steam-Coal Price Index (BSPI) grew 3 points, to 770, from March 16 to March 23.
The tables below specify coal prices on March 9 and March 16, 2011 at Qinhuangdao Port and the BSPI between Feb. 23 and March 16, 2011.
