SibirTelecom more than doubles 2010 IFRS profit

NOVOSIBIRSK. March 30 (Interfax) - SibirTelecom boosted net profit to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) 120% in 2010 to 4.248 billion rubles, the fixed-line provider said in a statement.

Sales revenue rose 4% to 39.41 billion rubles.

A total of 31.7% of the company's consolidated revenue came from local telephone services (12.48 billion rubles), 24.8% - cellular services (9.76 billion rubles), 17.7% - Internet and data transfer (6.97 billion rubles) and 11% - interzone telephone services - (4.342 billion rubles). The share of revenues from connection and traffic serves came to 9.4% (3.7 billion rubles).

The biggest revenue increase was for data transfer services, which went up by 19%. Revenues from the provision of local telephone services increased by 7% while revenues from radio communication services dropped by 45%. Revenues from interzone communications went down by 11%.

The company's OIBDA went up by 6% to 15.18 billion rubles while the OIBDA margin came to 38.5% compared to 37.5% in 2009.

SibirTelecom's profit from operations went up by 21% to 7.432 billion rubles while pretax profit increased by 90% to 5.81 billion rubles.

The company's consolidated expenditures in 2010 increased by 4% to 26.102 billion rubles.

SibirTelecom's capex came to 8.034 billion rubles, up 90% for 2010.

The company's total subscribers for broadband Internet increased by 39% to 827,800 users.

SibirTelecom provides fixed-line and cellular services in the Siberian Federal District. OJSC Svyazinvest Holding is the main shareholder in the telecom.
