Russia receives $113 mln in beneficent aid in 2010 - customs service

MOSCOW. March 31 (Interfax) - Russia exited 2010 have received $113 million in beneficent aid from non-Commonwealth of Independent States last year, with the most coming from Germany and the United States, the Federal Customs Service (FCS) says in a report on its website.

Compared to 2009, the amount of aid Russia received contracted 42%.

Russia received $110.9 million in technical aid, $1.8 million in humanitarian aid, and $23,000 in non-returnable aid.

Germany provided the country with $41 million, the U.S. with $40 million, the Netherlands with $7 million, Britain with $5 million, Japan with $4.3 million, India with $2.3 million, Belgium with $2.1 million, France with $2 million, and Italy with $1.5 million.

Russia extended technical, humanitarian, and non-returnable aid totaling $72 million last year, 150% more than the year before. The main recipients were Cuba ($30 million), Kyrgyzstan ($17 million), and Mongolia ($16.5 million). Russia sent $3.9 million to the United States, $2.5 million to Armenia, $995,000 to Finland, and $250,000 to Abkhazia.
