Ruble continues to decline against dollar and euro at start of trades on MICEX

MOSCOW. April 13 (Interfax) - The U.S. dollar and euro both posted gains at the start of trades on the MICEX on Wednesday. The Russian ruble declined for the third day in a row against the Central Bank's bi-currency basket (set at 0.45 euro and $0.55) owing to the mood on capital markets.

The first dollar deal on the MICEX came to 28.12-28.14 rubles/$1, up six to eight kopecks above its Tuesday close but one to three kopecks below the current official rate.

The euro opened at 40.75-40.8 rubles/EUR1, up five kopecks from its close on Tuesday and 20-25 kopecks above the official rate. The euro hit its highest position since the start of February.

The bi-currency basket went up by four to six kopecks to 33.8-33.82 rubles in the first minute of trades.
