Shougang to build Fujian steel plant
Shanghai. April 14. INTERFAX-CHINA - Hebei Province-based Shoudu Iron Steel Group (Shougang) plans to build a 5 million-ton steel production plant in the city of Zhangzhou, Fujian Province, state media reported April 13.
Shougang will partner with local steel mill Fujian Casey Steel Group Co. Ltd. (Casey Steel) for the construction of the plant, which will have an annual production capacity of 3 million tons for cold-rolled sheet and 2 million tons for deep processing steel plate.
The plant requires a total expenditure of RMB 5 billion ($765.24 million).
Established in 2003, Casey Steel specializes in manufacturing high-end flat products, including stainless steel sheet, cold-rolled sheet and hot-dipped galvanized aluminum-zinc alloy sheet.
