Ericsson completes Shenzhen TD-LTE network tests

Shanghai. April 14. INTERFAX-CHINA - Swedish telecom giant Ericsson announced April 13 that it has completed data tests on a fourth generation (4G) time division-long term evolution (TD-LTE) network in Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province.

China Mobile Communications Corp. (China Mobile) announced that it selected Ericsson to operate the Shenzhen TD-LTE network on April 8. China Mobile is also testing TD-LTE networks in six other cities, including Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou in Guangdong.

Last month, China Mobile said that it plans to offer TD-LTE network cards for notebook computers later this year.

China's central government identified next-generation communications networks, including TD-LTE, as a strategic emerging industry in its 12th Five-Year Plan (2011-2015).
