Medvedev urges govt officials to quit corporate boards of directors faster
SANYA, China. April 14 (Interfax) - Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has called on government officials to stand down from company boards of directors as soon as possible.
"Some instructions that stem from the Magnitogorsk meeting [a session of the modernization commission in Magnitogorsk earlier this month] should be implemented either immediately or within a very short period of time," Medvedev told Russian journalists after a summit of the BRICS group (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) in China on Thursday.
"For example, let's take these boards of directors. They do not need a year. The first government officials will quit the boards before the middle of the year, and the second part by October 1," the president said.
"It ought to be done faster," he said.
