Russian investment climate will not suffer from BP-TNK-BP conflict - Shmatko
MOSCOW. April 14 (Interfax) - The investment climate in Russia will not be harmed by the conflict between British Petroleum and TNK-BP , Russian Energy Minister Sergei Shmatko said.
"I'm confident that the current discussion between TNK-BP, BP, and Rosneft , in which Rosenft is a third party, will not have any substantial impact on the investment climate in Russia, including from the standpoint of foreign investment in the oil sector," Shmatko said at a briefing for journalists on Thursday.
Economic conditions and state policy are the main influences on the investment climate in this sector, he said. "You know that the government is not involved in this conflict, so I don't think that it will have an effect on the investment climate," he said.
