Bulgarian Economic Ministry officially fires NEK head, signee on agreement for Belene NPP
MOSCOW. April 15 (Interfax) - The board of directors at Bulgarian Energy Holding, which is controlled by the country's Ministry of the Economy, Energy and Tourism, has fired the head of National Electricity Company (NEK) Krasimir Purvanov, who earlier signed an additional agreement with Russia for the development of the Belene Nuclear Power Plant (NPP).
The main reason for Purvanov's removal was his gross violation of rules of subordination and failure to follow established procedures for carrying out negotiations, the ministry said in a statement.
