Major stainless steel project breaks ground in Jilin
Shanghai. April 18. INTERFAX-CHINA - Construction has begun on a 500,000-ton stainless steel plant in the city of Changchun, Jilin Province, state media reported April 15.
The plant will cost of RMB 21 billion ($3.22 billion) to build and is being jointly invested by Zhejiang-based China South East Special Steel Group Co. Ltd. and its parent company, Zhejiang Guangshang Enterprise Group Co. Ltd., China News Service reported.
The plant is designed to produce both hot and cold-rolled pickled and annealed hot rolled coil (HRC), and cold-rolled plate and strip.
