Gazprom, Eni talk including BASF, EDF in South Stream AG
MOSCOW. April 20 (Interfax) - CEO of Russian gas giant Gazprom Alexei Miller and his counterpart at Italian energy company Eni Paolo Scaroni met in Moscow Wednesday and discussed measures to bring the French company EDF and Germany's Wintershall (part of BASF) on board as shareholders in South Stream AG.
The Gazprom press service said they also talked about the process of working up a gas-purchase contract between Gazprom and SeverEnergia LLC. This document was supposed to be signed in February, but has yet to be coordinated.
Meeting participants said that, in light of the ongoing military conflict in Libya, Russian-company input into the Elephant project and operations at that deposit will be put off until the situation in that country stabilizes.
