EBRD to invest in Ukraine 1 bln euro each year until 2014

KYIV. April 20 (Interfax) - The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is ready not to reduce its aid for Ukraine and to provide a sum of around 1 billion euros per year until 2014, inclusively, said EBRD President Thomas Mirow.

Last week the bank approved its medium-term strategy for cooperation with Ukraine for a period until 2014: it is ready to invest in Ukraine at approximately the same level of around 1 billion euros per year in various areas, he said at a meeting with Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov in Kyiv on Wednesday.

Talks are already under way over the possibility to invest in the Ukrainian energy sector, Mirow said.
