Ministries should consider keeping tariff increase below inflation rate for next 3 yrs - Putin
MOSCOW. April 21 (Interfax) - Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has instructed the ministries to consider an option by which tariff growth would not outstrip inflation over the next three years.
Putin said that the current proposal sees using earlier reviewed tariff rates as a basis.
"But I believe that it is necessary to instruct the Economic Development Ministry to continue work with our sector-specific ministries and corporations, as well as the Finance Ministry, and consider an option where tariff growth does not exceed the planned inflation rate, which comes to 5%-6% on average [for the next three years]. Yesterday the minister [Economic Development Minister Elvira Nabiullina] proposed considering all the possibilities and outcomes of this step. We will make a final decision a bit later," Putin said.
