Medvedev presents bill to tighten anti-corruption requirements

MOSCOW. April 28 (Interfax) - President Dmitry Medvedev has submitted to the State Duma a draft law amending legislative acts to upgrade state regulation for fighting corruption, the Kremlin said.

The president said earlier that the bill would bind banks and registration bodies to submit information about property of individuals seeking governmental positions and would set punishments for civil servants engaged in undeclared business.

The requirements will apply to citizens seeking positions as a judge, positions at regional authorities, positions as head of municipal authorities and permanent municipal positions, positions at federal authorities and top-ranking positions at state corporations.
