TNK-BP boosts supplies of commercial gasoline in Russia without exports

MOSCOW. April 29 (Interfax) - TNK-BP increased supply of commercial gasoline to the Russian market in January-April 2011 but did not export this sort of gasoline during the period, a company representative told Interfax.

"The increase in supplies of these types of fuel to the domestic market reached up to 10% year-on-year in January-May 2011," he said.

The company supplies the domestic market with all gasoline production permitted according to the state technical regulation for sale in Russia. TNK-BP is not exporting these types of fuel.

The company also said that all Euro-3 and Euro-4 gasoline production is being sold on the domestic market.

It was earlier reported that Lukoil also is not exporting commercial gasoline. "The company exported 44,000 tonnes of Euro-2 gasoline in the first quarter. It is being exported to other countries that do not have strict ecological standards. The company has no plans to produce Euro-2 in the second quarter," Lukoil said.

Rosneft said that, since the start of the year, it has almost halved exports of gasoline in comparison with the same period of 2010. Total production of fuel was delivered to the domestic market with the exception of fuel excluded for the state technical regulations, which came into place at the start of the year. This amount (300 tonnes) has been exported to countries such as Mongolia.

At the same time, a company representative said that gasoline from the Achinsk Refinery, which supplies fuel to areas such as the Altai Territory, has not been exported.

The Energy Ministry and oil companies earlier decided against exporting gasoline in May in order to cover the deficit on the domestic market.
