Chief of Basel aviation appointed general director at Sky Express
MOSCOW. May 3 (Interfax) - Denis Ilin, head of the Basic Element (Basel) aviation division, has been tapped for general director at the airlines Sky Express, a company representative told AviaPort.
The previous general director was Marina Bukalova, who also held that post at Kuban Airlines, which is also part of the Basel group.
Kuban Airlines Press Secretary Olga Trapeznikova said the general director's chair will be taken by former chief of the air-carrier Yevgeny Stognushenko.
Until 2008, Ilin held a management position with the company group Volga Dnepr.
New management will work to increase the efficiency and stability of the airlines' operations, and to further increase the range and quality of services it provides. At present a strategic plan for Sky Express development is in the works, and it will be presented to shareholders this July.
Sky Express said in a press release that Bukalova will continue to work on new projects.
Sky Express increased the number of passengers it served 7% to 1.144 million in 2010. The company has seven Boeing 737-500s and two 737-300s.
Kuban Airlines flew 666,500 people last year, a 12% increase. It flies a Yak-42 and three Boeing 737-300s.
