FAS sues Rosreserv, Agriculture Ministry
MOSCOW. May 3 (Interfax) - Russia's Federal Anti-monopoly Service (FAS) has filed a lawsuit against the Federal Agency for State Reserves (Rosreserv) and the Agriculture Ministry over grain supplied to several companies with a six-month delay for payment, according to the Tuesday issue of the Vedomosti newspaper.
The FAS has learnt that in 2010 grain from the state reserves was allocated to certain companies for a six-month period with no payment required in order to stabilize the grain market and reduce the negative effect of the free grain sale on the level of domestic prices.
Rosreserv had no reason to make the decision to influence the domestic grain market and to provide state support to certain companies without government's permission or prior consent from the FAS to the granting of such preferences, the FAS said.
The coordinated actions by Rosreserv and the Agriculture Ministry have restricted access to the grain market for other companies operating on this market.
