AvtoVaz boosts car sales in Russia by 48% in Jan-Apr
SAMARA. May 3 (Interfax) - OJSC AvtoVaz increased car sales by 48.1% year-on-year to 184,889 units in January-April 2011, the company said in a statement.
Total domestic sales for the company in April went up by 6.5% year-on-year to 56,173 cars and up 6.6% in comparison with March 2011.
A total of 15,666 Lada cars were exported in January-April (up from 10,300 units in the same period of 2010). Exports in April came to 4,904 cars (up from 3,800 cars).
The sales leaders for the first four months of 2011 were the Lada Kalina (46,329 cars), followed by Lada Priora (41,565 units), the Lada 2105/2107 (39,011 units), the Lada Samara (31,720 units) and Lada 4X4s (17,785 units).
AvtoVaz plans to produce 605,000 cars this year including output from IzhAvto.
