Metinvest and Interpipe to supply Naftogaz Ukrainy with $20 mln in piping
KYIV. May 5 (Interfax) - LLC Interpipe Ukraine (Dnepropetrovsk) and LLC Metinvest Holding (Donetsk) have been declared the winner of a tender announced by national shareholder company Naftogaz Ukrainy for the supply of steel piping worth 163,803,842 hryvni (over $20.5 million at today's rate).
According to a statement on the tender's result, which was published on the website of Ukraine's Economic Development and Trade Ministry, the companies will supply Naftogaz around 7,000 tonnes of electro-welded, jointless, compression pumping and drill pipe production.
The agreement with Interpipe foresees the supply of 4,476 tonnes of pipe production worth 95,930,533 hryvni. The agreement with Metinvest expects the delivery of 2,462.7 tonnes of piping worth 67,872,320 hryvni.
Naftogaz Ukrainy plans to invest 3.1 billion hryvni into reconstructing the country's gas transport system, including 1.22 billion hryvni for updating trunk gas pipelines and gas distribution stations.
