Silvinit closing German, Belarusian rep offices for merger with Uralkali

PERM. May 6 (Interfax) - The board of directors at OJSC Silvinit have decided close the potash-producer's representative offices in Belarus and Germany in light of its upcoming merger with fertilizer-maker OJSC Uralkali , the Silvinit press service told Interfax.

"During the process of company unification, duplicate functions are being eliminated, and that primarily concerns the administrative level," a company representative said.

According to the company charter, Silvinit has two representative offices - one in Minsk and the other in Frankfurt am Main. The one in Moscow was closed this past March.

Uralkali and Silvinit are now in the process of merging, a process that is slated for completion before the end of Q2.
