Crude oil deliveries to Ukrainian refineries down 27.5% in Jan-Apr

KYIV. May 11 (Interfax) - The delivery of crude oil to Ukrainian oil refineries and Shebelinsk Gas Refinery was down 27.5% year-on-year at 2.829 million tonnes during the period January-April.

A source at the Ukrainian Energy and Coal Industry Ministry told Interfax that delivery of oil to Ukrainian refineries from Russia decreased 27.2% to 1.550 million tonnes, delivery of Ukrainian oil - 9.9% to 661,400 tonnes. Delivery of gas condensate to Ukrainian refineries was down 4.4% at 223,100 tonnes.

Ministry data indicate that three of five existing oil refineries in the country and the Shebelinsk facility engaged in processing crude in January-April. Ukrainian refineries processed 24.4% less crude during the period - 2.959 million tonnes in all.

Lisichansk Oil Refinery refined 11.7% less crude - 1.636 tonnes, Kremenchug Oil refinery 22.8% less - 1.016 million tonnes, Drohobych Oil Refinery 44.2% less - 84,700 tonnes, and Shebelinsk Gas Refinery 2.3% less - 223,100 tonnes.

Odessa Oil Refinery and Nadvirna Oil Refinery were idle during this period, and Kherson Oil Refinery has been out of commission since 2005.

Ukrainian oil refineries and Shebelinsk Gas Refinery produced 18.3% less gasoline in year-on-year January-April - 921,600 tonnes, 20.3% less diesel fuel - 884,700 tonnes, and 21.5% less fuel oil - 722,000 tonnes.

As reported, delivery of crude oil to Ukrainian oil refineries and Shebelinsk Gas Refinery decreased 3.3% in 2010 to 11.057 million tonnes, while processing dropped 3.6% to 11.097 million tonnes.
