Natural Resources Ministry approves geological exploration at 91 oil, gas sections

MOSCOW. May 12 (Interfax) - The Russian Natural Resources and Ecology Ministry has drawn up a list of 91 oil and gas sections that will be offered for geological exploration in 2011, according to an instruction from Natural Resources and Ecology Minister Yury Trutnev published on the ministry's web site.

The sections will be auctioned if more than one company applies for the geological exploration license. The license will be awarded without an auction if only one application is received.

The application deadline is June 20.

The properties are in Krasnoyarsk territory (26); Yamalo-Nenets autonomous district (17); Irkutsk region and Perm territory (seven each); Bashkortostan (six); Kirov region (five); Nenets autonomous district, Orenburg region and Yakutia (three each); Kalmykia, Khanty-Mansii autonomous district, Rostov and Tambov regions (two each); and Kamchatka, Adygea, Tatarstan, Saratov region, Stavropol territory and Udmurtia (one each).

Little exploration has been carried out at most of the sections.
