Former Rosneft VP Stavsky to head production at Bashneft
MOSCOW. May 16 (Interfax) - Mikhail Stavsky, a former Vice President of Rosneft , has been appointed head of production and geology at Bashneft, a Bashneft representative told Interfax.
The appointment reflects Bashneft's commitment to boosting crude oil production, which lags behind the company's refining capacity.
Stavsky left Rosneft last fall after Eduard Khudainatov replaced Sergei Bogdanchikov as president. Prior to his arrival at Rosneft in 2006, Stavsky was vice president at Sibneft, now Gazprom Neft . He left that company when it was bought by Gazprom .
Alexander Korsik was named president of Bashneft in early April. He has said there might be new management appointments. "Personnel changes are always a possibility. I have a few ideas on that score," he said.
AFK Sistema completed the acquisition of the Bashkortostan oil and energy companies (BashTEK) in April 2009. In May of that year, Korsik was named Sistema senior vice president for the oil and energy business unit.
