EBRD should boost activities in all regions of Kazakhstan - Nazarbayev
ASTANA. May 20 (Interfax) - Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev said that European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) should expand its presence in all regions of the republic.
"I suggest that the EBRD expands its present in the regions of Kazakhstan in the future. Its participation in municipal development projects will help resolve the local infrastructure problems and balance the economic development of the regions," the president said at the first session of the 20th meeting of the EBRD Board of Governors in Astana on Friday.
"We do believe that EBRD should co-finance such projects with the Kazakh banks, pension funds and other domestic investors," the president said.
"Besides, we have to develop lending in the national currency," Nazarbayev said.
