Kazakhstan posts 165.3 bln tenge budget deficit in Jan-April

ASTANA. May 24 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan had a budget deficit of 165.307 billion tenge or 10.8% of spending in January-April, the Finance Ministry said.

Budget revenue was 1.34 trillion tenge and expenditures were 1.53 trillion tenge (145.23 tenge/$1 on May 24).

Direct revenue came to 1.35 trillion rubles, receipts from budget loan pay-down to 16.8 million tenge and receipts from the sale of financial assets to 38.3 million tenge.

Budget expenditures amounted to 1.32 trillion tenge, budget loans to 84.1 million tenge and spending on the acquisition of financial assets to 130.9 million tenge.

Targeted budget revenues for this year are 4.041 trillion tenge, spending - 4.644 trillion tenge and the budget deficit - 602.5 billion tenge, or 2.8% of GDP.

In February, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev signed a package of amendments and additions to the budget for 2011-2013, according to which budget revenues for 2011 were set at 4.249 trillion tenge (up 207.9 billion tenge), spending at 4.945 trillion tenge (up 301.3 billion tenge), and the deficit for the year at 695.811 billion tenge, or 2.9% of GDP.
