Unemployment rate in Russia ranges between 1.8% for Moscow and 48.6% for Ingushetia - Rosstat
MOSCOW. May 25 (Interfax) - The level of unemployed in Russia's Federal Districts remains very divergent with the different between the federal districts reaching 240% and for the regions - up to 2600%, Russia's State Statistics Agency (Rosstat) said in its employment and unemployment report for April 2011.
The lowest unemployment rate, according to MOT criteria, was posted for the Central Federal District in April 2011 at 4.5%. The highest rate was for the North Caucasus Federal District at 15.3%.
The unemployment rate for the North-West Federal District came to 5.7% in April 2011, Urals - 7%, Volga - 7.2%, Far East - 8%, Southern - 8.1% and Siberian Federal District - 9.3%.
The average unemployment rate for Russia increased from 7.1% in March to 7.2% in April.
Among Russia's regions, the highest unemployment rate for February-April 2011 was posted for the Republic of Ingushetia at 48.6% and the Chechen Republic at 37.1%. High unemployment rates were also posted for Tyva Republic (19.3%), Altai (16.5%), Kalmykia (15.4%) and Dagestan (14.2%).
The lowest unemployment rates for February-April 2011 were posted for the city of Moscow (1.8%), St. Petersburg (2.4%) and the Moscow Region (3.4%).
