Gazprom begins creating 10 bcm gas storage facility in Penza region
PENZA/MOSCOW. May 25 (Interfax) - Gazprom will build an underground gas storage facility with capacity for 10 billion cubic meters in Penza region's Spassky district, along the Pomary-Uzhgorod gas pipeline, Penza region Governor Vasily Bochkarev said at a briefing on Wednesday.
Gazprom specified that the project is the Bednodemyaninsky underground gas storage facility.
"[Gazprom] has just approved the project. Preliminary work has already begun," Bochkarev said, adding that the project will cost 44 billion rubles.
Construction work will begin this year and last four years.
