CSR secures $462 mln in wind turbine contracts
Shanghai. June 1. INTERFAX-CHINA - CSR Corp. Ltd., a state-owned wind turbine manufacturer based in Beijing, has secured wind turbine supply contracts worth more than RMB 3 billion ($462 million), state media reported June 1.
CSR's wind turbine production facilities are based in Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province; Tongliao City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and Tianjin Municipality. The company produces approximately 1,200 wind turbines annually.
A CSR-designed 2.5 megawatt (MW) wind turbine went on-line in Inner Mongolia last week. The turbine is able to generate eight gigawatt hours (GWh) of electricity yearly while saving roughly 3,150 tons of coal, China Securities Journal reported June 1.
CSR recorded sales revenues of RMB 2.85 billion ($439.91 million) in 2010, making it one of China's ten largest wind turbine manufacturers.
