Russian restaurants and cafes see turnover go up by 2.9% in April
MOSCOW. June 2 (Interfax) - Total turnover at restaurants, cafes, bars and other eateries in Russia increased by 2.9% year-on-year to 70.4 billion rubles in April 2011, Russia's State Statistics Agency (Rosstat) said in its materials.
Total turnover at restaurants, bars and cafes in January-April 2011 increased by 3.2% to 262.8 billion rubles, Rosstat said.
The sole public player on this market in Russia, OJSC Rosinter Restaurants Holding , increased its revenue by 8.7% to 839 million rubles in April and, in January-April, by 10% to 3.212 billion rubles.
OJSC Rosinter Restaurants Holding manages the following chains: Il Patio, Planeta Sushi, 1-2-3 Cafe and T.G.I. Friday's, as well as the Cost Coffee chain
As of April 30, Rosinter had 372 restaurants under its management, including 118 operating on the basis of franchising agreements.
