Gazprom not ruling out cooperation with Total on global market - Miller

PRAGUE. June 2 (Interfax) - Gazprom does not rule out an alliance with French Total for cooperation on global markets, Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller told journalists.

France's energy cooperation with Russia over the past two years has outpaced the competition, he said.

French companies have substantial advantages: many other European partners are regional, not global players.

"Gazprom is positioning itself as a global player," Miller said.

New global alliances are gradually taking shape, he said. They conduct swap operations between themselves and carry out projects in third countries, he said.

"I do not rule out that Total has such a prospect for cooperation," he said.
