Russia-EU talks on WTO accession will be completed in a few weeks - diplomat
MOSCOW. July 6 (Interfax) - Moscow hopes to complete in the next few weeks its talks with the EU on Russia's accession to the WTO, Russian permanent representative at the EU Vladimir Chizhov has said.
"I expect that we will succeed in completing talks in the next few weeks, not months, on outstanding issues in the Russia-EU context related to the prospects of Russia's accession to the WTO," he said at a Moscow press conference.
Chizhov said that the Russian ban on vegetable imports from the EU should not affect the progress of the WTO accession talks.
"As for the talks on the WTO, several issues remain unresolved but they have nothing to do with the infection. Talks on the issue continue quite actively," he added.
