Russian imports from EU rose 48.5% in Jan-April - customs

MOSCOW. June 7 (Interfax) - Russia imported goods from the EU worth $35.506 billion in the first four months of the year, 48.5% more than in the same period last year, the Federal Customs Service said.

Russia exported $82.46 billion to the EU in the four months, 17.4% more. Trade with the EU totaled $117.967 billion in the period, 25.3% more.

Germany was the leading EU exporter to Russia in January-April. It exported goods worth $10.273 billion to Russia (up 56.3% year-on-year), followed by France - $3.786 billion (up 52.9%), Italy - $3.672 billion (up 50.6%), UK - $1.91 billion (up 83.5%), Poland - $1.887 billion (up 22.5%), Netherlands - $1.68 billion (up 38.4%), Finland - $1.526 billion (up 43.8%) and Spain - $1.218 billion (68.5%).

Trade with Russia's partners in the Customs Union (Belarus and Kazakhstan) rose 41.2% to $18.405 billion in the four months, the FCS said. Russia exported goods worth $11.653 billion (36.6% more year-on-year) and imported $6.752 billion (49.8% more).

Trade with the U.S. totaled $7.862 billion (up 43.7%), including $3.701 billion in imports from the U.S. (up 45%) and $4.160 billion in exports (up 42.7%).

Trade with China rose to $24.625 billion (up 49.3%), including $13.617 billion in imports from China (up 38.5%) and $11.007 billion in exports (up 65.3%).
