Russian trade surplus widens 11.3% to $19.258 bln in April - CB
MOSCOW. June 10 (Interfax) - Russia's trade surplus, calculated according to the balance of payments method, widened 11.3% in April to $19.258 billion, from $17.308 billion in March, the Central Bank said.
Exports grew 4.4% to $46.102 billion in April from $44.146 billion in March, and imports were up 0.02% to $26.844 billion from $26.838 billion.
This was the biggest monthly export figure on record bar the $47.33 billion reported in July 2008.
The April surplus was the highest ever - higher even than the $18.694 billion seen in July 2008.
The trade surplus in January-April 2011 rose 13.1% year-on-year to $68.809 billion from $60.85 billion.
Exports in the four months rose 27.4% to $160.161 billion from $125.743 billion, and imports 40.8% to $91.352 billion from $64.893 billion.
