Kazakhstan to export nuclear fuel to China
ASTANA. June 13 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan will start exporting nuclear power plant fuel to China this year, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev said on Monday.
"We have good prospects in the nuclear energy industry, including the joint production of nuclear fuel and the construction of a nuclear power plant. This year supplies of fuel pellets will start from Kazakhstan to China," Nazarbayev told a news conference after talks with Chinese President Hu Jintao.
Late last year Kazakhstan finished certifying uranium dioxide fuel pellets for exports to China.
