China's coal supplies to grow in H2 - NEA
Shanghai. June 14. INTERFAX-CHINA - China's coal production capacity will grow in the second half (H2) of the year ensuring that coal supplies meet demand, state media reported June 14, citing the National Energy Agency (NEA).
Key coal producing provinces of Shanxi, Shaanxi, Henan and Guizhou provinces, as well as Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region are currently expanding production capacities, Shanghai Securities News quoted NEA as saying on June 14.
Meanwhile, new coalmines with an aggregate 100 million tons of production capacity are scheduled to go on-line in H2 of the year, stabilizing domestic coal supplies, the report said.
The NEA, China's energy industry watchdog, also said that railways linking key coal producing regions with the rest of China are currently expanding capacity to ease potential coal shortages.
