Medvedev urges SCO to open account to finance major projects
ASTANA. June 15 (Interfax) - Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has called on the member-states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) to speed up the opening of a special account from which major projects would be financed.
"I believe the resolution of this issue has been overdue, and all of the organization's member-states are ready for this decision," Medvedev said at an SCO summit in Astana on Wednesday.
The money from this account "could be used for technical-economic analysis of major projects" within the organization's framework, he said.
