CB to start operations with Canadian dollars for international reserves this autumn

MOSCOW. June 15 (Interfax) - The Central Bank of Russia plans this autumn to start up operations with Canadian dollars for international reserves, the bank's First Deputy Chairman, Alexei Ulyukayev, told journalists on Wednesday.

"We have selected the bank-agents where accounts will be opened, through which operations in our interested will be processed," Ulyukayev said, adding that several banks have been selected.

The CB will carry out deposits and security investments in Canadian dollars.

When asked about when the CB will start up operations with the Australian dollar, Ulyukayev said that he expects this to happen in September or October.
