Khristenko appointed as president's special representative to Customs Union
MOSCOW. June 26 (Interfax) - Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has appointed trade and Industry Minister Viktor Khristenko as his Special Representative for changes to the Agreement on the Customs Union Commission.
A decree to that effect has been posted on the Kremlin's website.
Khristenko will be in charge of holding consultations with Belarus and Kazakhstan. Federal executive authorities will provide any assistance required to the President's Special Representative in the performance of his duties.
Initially, Khristenko will combine both jobs before eventually resigning the ministerial post, the Vedomosti newspaper said last week.
