MICEX index rises 0.3% at open on Wednesday
MOSCOW. June 29 (Interfax) - Russian stocks opened higher on Wednesday on global optimism that Greece's parliament will approve austerity measures to release financial assistance from the EU and IMF.
The MICEX index was up 0.31% to 1,656.66 points as of 10:31 a.m. and the RTS index was up 0.38% to 1,881.41 points.
Among advancers on MICEX, VTB was up 0.3%, Gazprom - 0.4%, Gazprom Neft - 0.6%, Lukoil - 0.1%, NOVATEK - 0.6%, MMC Norilsk Nickel - 0.5%, Polyus Gold - 0.9%, Rosneft - 0.6%, Rostelecom - 0.6%, Sberbank Russia - 0.1%, Surgutneftegas - 0.3%, Tatneft - 0.8% and Federal Grid Company (FGC) - 0.6%.
