GD Power's Shenxigou Hydropower Plant operating at full capacity

Shanghai. June 30. INTERFAX-CHINA - State-owned GD Power Development Co. Ltd.'s (GD Power) Shenxigou Hydropower Plant in southwestern Sichuan Province is operating at full capacity, the company announced June 30.

Located on the Daduhe River, the 660-megawatt (MW) power plant is capable of generating 3.24 gigawatt hours (GWh) of electricity annually, the company said.

Construction on the plant began in 2006 and its first generator went on-line in June 2010.

The RMB 4.96 billion ($766.62 million) hydropower plant features four 165-MW generators.

GD Power operates 30.60 gigawatts (GW) of power plants, of which 6.85 GW are hydropower, the company said.
