Velsky court to consider Lebedev's parole request on July 26
ST. PETERSBURG. July 1 (Interfax) - The Velsky District Court has scheduled the hearing of former Menatep CEO Platon Lebedev's parole request for July 26, Kseniya Solovyova, press secretary of the Arkhangelsk region's court, told Interfax.
"The hearing is expected to take two days, but the court will schedule additional hearing if need be," Solovyova said.
Solovyova said Lebedev will be personally present in the Velsky District Court hearing of his parole request.
Solovyova said work with the case materials may take several hearings.
On May 24, 2011, the Moscow City Court reduced the punishment given to Khodorkovsky and former Menatep CEO Platon Lebedev from 14 years to 13 years in prison. The prison term begins in 2003, when the arrest in the "first Yukos case" was made. This means that the convicts are expected to walk free in 2016.
