Prosecutors of Istra, Krasnogorsk fired over "gambling case" - source

MOSCOW. July 1 (Interfax) - Dismissals continue in the Moscow region prosecutor's office: The prosecutors Mikhail Popkov of Istra and Yevgeny Puzanov of Krsnogorsk have lost their posts, a source in the law enforcement agencies told Interfax on Friday.

The source said Popkov and Puzanov have been dismissed over the "gambling case."

The source recalled that Popkov and Puzanov were earlier reprimanded following a probe conducted by the Prosecutor General's Office into the reports of illegal protection by prosecutors of illegal gambling businesses.

Ruslan Rezumenko, prosecutor of Pushkino, Moscow region, has recently been fired from his job.

Interfax currently has no official confirmation of the information on Popkov's and Puzanov's dismissals.
