Russian GDP grew 4.1% in Q1 - Rosstat
MOSCOW. July 1 (Interfax) - Russian GDP grew 4.1% in 2011 compared with the same period last year, Rosstat reported on Friday.
It is the first time Rosstat has provided a growth figure for the first quarter this year.
GDP amounted to 11.410 trillion rubles in nominal terms. The deflator index (compared with the first quarter of 2010) is 114.6%.
The biggest growth in gross added-value was in fishing (including fish farming) with growth of 19.8% compared with the first quarter last year, processing - 12.9% and transportation and communications - 5.1%.
Operations with real estate were up 3.8%, subsurface resource extraction - 2.4%, financial operations - 2%, housing and utilities service - 1.6%, retail - 1.3%, agriculture - 1.1% and construction - 0.8%.
Retail trade accounted for 18.6% of GDP in the three months, followed by processing - 17.3%, subsurface resource extraction - 12.3%, real estate operations - 11%, transportation and communications - 9.2%, state administration - 6.1%, production and distribution of electricity, gas and water - 5.8%, financial operations - 4.5%, healthcare - 3.6%, construction - 3.6%, education - 3.1%, agriculture - 2%, housing and utilities services - 1.7% and hotels and restaurants - 0.9%.
