CR Power begins operations at oil-fired power plant in Tibet
Shanghai. July 4. INTERFAX-CHINA - State-owned China Resources Power Holding Co. Ltd. (CR Power) has commenced operations at an oil-fired power plant in Lhasa, capital of the Tibet Autonomous Region, state media reported July 3.
The 180-megawatt (MW) power plant has the capacity to generate 500 terawatt hours (TWh) of electricity annually, or roughly 30 percent of central Tibet's total power supply in 2010, according to Xinhua news agency.
The state-run news agency did not disclose the date of the plant's start-up.
CR Power began construction on the RMB 820 million ($127.13 million) plant in September 2010.
