Ukrainian steel majors up output in H1
KYIV. July 4 (Interfax) - Most of Ukraine's steel majors boosted finished roll production in January-June.
ArcelorMittal Kryviy Rih (formerly Kryvorizhstal), the country's biggest steel mill, reduced roll production tentatively 11% year-on-year to 2.345 million tonnes, the company told Interfax.
But Azovstal said it increased roll output 7.4% year-on-year to 3.023 million tonnes, Zaporizhstal raised it 16.7% to 1.59 million tonnes and the Ilich works from Mariupol raised it 32% to 2.412 million tonnes.
The Alchevsk Iron & Steel Works, a member of the Industrial Union of Donbass (IUD) group, increased roll output 23% year-on-year to 1.879 million tonnes, and IUD's Dzerzhinsky Metallurgical Combine (DMK) raised it 11.5% to 1.524 million tonnes.

Ukraine's steel industry boosted finished roll output 10% year-on-year in January-June to 15.383 million tonnes, the Industrial Policy Ministry told Interfax. Crude steel production rose 7% to 17.416 million tonnes and pig iron grew 3% to 14.235 million tonnes.
The ministry also said steel pipe production grew 42% to 1.104 million tonnes, metalware - 7% to 139,000 tonnes and coke - 5% to 9.804 million tonnes.
Ukrainian steel mills received 3.324 million tonnes of scrap, 12% more than in the same period of last year.
